Draka Announces Re-Opening of Commerce, California (Los Angeles) Distribution Facility

Please be advised that effective April 1, 2009, Draka will re-open its doors of our totally refurbished facility in Commerce, California’s Los Angeles area. Please see the map at the bottom of this page for location information.

This change has been in planning for a half year as we have been looking for new ways to better serve our customers in this area. We are optimistic that the new changes will revitalize support for our customers’ needs at this location as we are dedicated to this community and its elevator needs.

One of the key changes is our partnership with SEES Inc. of Pompano Beach, Florida. As we have been a long time partner with SEES in the south east, it made sense to expand to the west. SEES is the leading manufacturer and distributor of thousands of replacement parts to the elevator industry. Our joint venture simply makes sense when combined with the elevator components currently offered by Draka.

Other significant changes include an all new pick-up area. We have expanded this area so that elevator contractors can easily come in and get the parts and components they need in the same day. Our processes will be improved as well, such as shipping, receiving and expediting.

We will also have new and additional staff to better serve our customers as well as an all new office management IT system. Improved inventory is planned so that the parts you need will be in stock when you need them. The entire facility has been overhauled, from the parking and loading area to storage rack configuration.
